The Huge One Suggests

In his blog on Mlive, Huge suggests:

• The Detroit Tigers will fire manager Jim Leyland by the All-Star break because no arms in the bullpen will force Dave Dombrowski's hand. The Tigers will finish 15 games out of first place. Kirk Gibson will be hired as skipper.

Brandon Inge's buddy, "Two Swings" back in town as skipper? I have always said that Gibby reminds me of Billy Martin. Martin was intense and had the ability to inject himself into teams quickly. But he was a short term, quick fix. I would liken Gibson to Martin in that aspect. Perhaps Gibby would prove me wrong, but I bet his intensity would get old quickly. He might be able to save the '09 season, though. We'll see.
