I guess, if you're the Tigers brass, you wish you would have dealt for Jack Wilson back in 2007 when the rumors were hot. Wilson is a good field/okay hit short stop. But the Tigers could have had him for only Jair Jurgens, if I remember correctly. They ended up giving up two players to (stupidly) acquire Edgar Renteria. The outfield prospect they gave up Gorkys Hernandez.
When they made that October 29 trade, we all thought they were smart!
Think again!
"We are excited to add an all-star caliber shortstop in Edgar Renteria to the Tigers organization," Tigers President, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager David Dombrowski said. "Edgar is a quality player, proven winner and tremendous leader that solidifies our infield."
